Local Leaders : Rabbi Harry Zeitlin
Rabbi Harry Zeitlin is an Orthodox rabbi for whom Torah study has been a thread stretching from his grandfather, Philip Zeitlin z"l, to Rabbi Nissan Applebaum of Jerusalem, who taught him to enjoy, rather than merely read, Talmud. See his biography for details.
Rabbi Zeitlin is also very active in the Jewish Renewal movement and has been a board member of Ohalah, the Renewal Rabbis organization since 2004. He's been blessed and privileged to count Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi as a teacher. He teaches, leads services for, and works with Jews across the "observance spectrum".
Presently, his major focus is acting as a bridge between all the ways Jews see themselves, religious or secular and, within the religious, between all the different denominations and styles and flavors.
A father of four, Rabbi Zeitlin is also a professional artist (see Art is the Spiritual), and a jazz musician, who currently lives, teaches and provides spiritual counseling in Seattle, Washington.
